In the face of rapidly rising floodwaters and widespread isolation, Khanh Hoa Provincial Police responded to more than 3,000 SOS calls from residents trapped by water and landslides.
On the afternoon of November 22, a representative of the Fire Prevention, Fighting, and Rescue Department (PC67) under the Khanh Hoa Provincial Police told VietNamNet that emergency teams had been fully mobilized over the past week to guide evacuations and rescue operations.

Between November 16 and 22, the PC67 department received over 3,000 emergency reports, including landslides, calls for urgent rescue, and distress signals from people cut off in submerged homes.
In response, police units were deployed to affected areas. More than 3,078 people were successfully guided or evacuated to safety, including injured individuals, children, and the elderly.
Rescue teams also reached stranded residents to deliver food, drinking water, and other essentials. In more tragic cases, officers recovered 4 bodies and retrieved 6 additional bodies trapped in various parts of the flood zone.

Khanh Hoa experienced days of unrelenting rain, which triggered flash floods and landslides across the province. In response, over 15,000 armed forces personnel and more than 500 rescue vehicles were mobilized to support evacuations and distribute supplies.
According to the provincial People’s Committee, 3,200 households - approximately 13,000 people - have been relocated from high-risk flood zones.
The disaster has resulted in 14 fatalities, with 15,396 homes inundated by waters ranging from 1 to 3 meters deep. More than 13,300 hectares of rice, crops, and fruit trees were also destroyed.
The total economic loss is currently estimated at over 1,000 billion VND (approx. 41 million USD).
