Flooding in Khanh Hoa province has taken a critical turn, especially in Tay Khanh Son, Ninh Hoa, and Hoa Tri communes. Torrents of murky floodwaters have surged into residential areas, triggering landslides and isolating multiple households.
On the afternoon of November 19, Tay Khanh Son commune faced particularly severe flooding. Water levels surged over the Ko Roa spillway on Provincial Road 9, inundating nearby neighborhoods and endangering residents with strong, fast-moving currents.
In some areas, the force of the water has cut off access entirely, placing people’s lives at risk.

Flooding in Khanh Hoa province has taken a critical turn, especially in Tay Khanh Son, Ninh Hoa, and Hoa Tri communes. Torrents of murky floodwaters have surged into residential areas, triggering landslides and isolating multiple households.
According to local police, 20 residents were evacuated to safety on the evening of November 18. The next morning, authorities evacuated an additional five people. One local police officer’s house is under immediate threat of a landslide, prompting the deployment of a dedicated team to assist the family.
In Nam Ninh Hoa commune, Rescue Team No. 2 from Fire and Rescue Police Division KV5 successfully evacuated five residents - including a person with disabilities and four elderly individuals - from a flooded and isolated home in My Loi hamlet.

Meanwhile, in Hoa Tri commune, after receiving reports that 10 people were trapped in floodwaters, the provincial Fire and Rescue Police Division (PC07) dispatched a team of nine officers, led by Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Tien Chuong, to coordinate with local authorities. They are currently working to reach the affected area and extract those still stranded.
From the night of November 18 onward, heavy rains across Khanh Hoa have caused upstream floods to inundate thousands of homes. Multiple roads have been eroded or cut off entirely.
That same night, emergency responders were stationed along 23 Thang 10 Street in Tay Nha Trang ward, evacuating residents as floodwaters rose again.
In a separate incident, PC07 officers managed to rescue a child who was choking on a foreign object while trapped in a flooded area in Tay Nha Trang. The child was safely brought to dry ground and handed over to medical staff for treatment.
Amid worsening weather conditions and rising waters, search and rescue operations are being carried out with urgency across the province.
