On November 20, the Da Nang City Military Command (CHQS) confirmed it had rapidly assembled hundreds of life vests and rescue tools to support severely flooded areas in the Central Highlands.
The entire shipment has been handed over to the 372nd Air Division for air transport to deeply submerged and isolated communities.
The 372nd Division has already stationed personnel and aircraft, ready to launch transport missions as soon as weather conditions permit.
According to the Da Nang Military Command, rising floodwaters in Gia Lai and Dak Lak have left many residential areas cut off.
Da Nang’s timely supply of emergency equipment is seen as critical support. These resources will enhance local response teams’ ability to reach isolated areas, conduct evacuations, and ensure public safety.
The Da Nang Military Command said it will continue close coordination with the 372nd Air Division to support affected provinces in the coming days.
Facing worsening weather conditions, Pham Anh Tuan, Chairman of the Gia Lai People’s Committee, has ordered the full mobilization of all local forces - military, police, and civil administration - to evacuate people from high-risk areas.
Gia Lai authorities have also instructed teams to maintain 24/7 rescue operations and to prioritize relocating the elderly, the ill, and persons with disabilities to safe zones. Local residents are being warned not to cross flooded roads or submerged bridges during heavy rain.
