The People’s Committee of Lam Dong Province has declared a state of emergency for road infrastructure after prolonged heavy rains triggered landslides and surface cracks on National Highway 20 and National Highway 28.
On November 2, the Lam Dong provincial government issued an official decision announcing an emergency situation due to natural disasters affecting National Highway 20, from Km262+400 to Km262+530, and National Highway 28, from Km47+252 to Km54+000.
According to the authorities, from October 26 to 30, continuous heavy rainfall led to landslides and foundation subsidence along the specified segments of National Highway 20 in the area of the D’ran suspension bridge (Xuan Truong Ward, Da Lat), and National Highway 28 in Son Dien Commune.
These conditions caused severe traffic disruption and posed risks to the safety of motorists and local residents. The situation may worsen if immediate emergency response measures are not taken.

In response, the Lam Dong provincial government has issued urgent directives to safeguard the public. Authorities are required to install warning signs and prohibit unauthorized individuals from entering hazardous zones.
Emergency teams must be stationed around the clock at affected sites to monitor developments and assess the ongoing risk.
Traffic flow must be rerouted and managed to ensure safe passage for vehicles.
In addition, the root causes must be identified and long-term repair plans proposed to restore the stability and safety of these roads, protecting lives and property.

Local governments in Xuan Truong Ward and Son Dien Commune are instructed to work closely with relevant agencies to evacuate residents from high-risk areas. Forced evacuation will be implemented if necessary to ensure absolute safety for local communities.
Once evacuation notices are issued, local authorities must maintain security checkpoints 24/7 and strictly prohibit residents from returning to the landslide zones until safety is confirmed.
