Vietnam has now completed the appointment of 34 provincial and municipal chairpersons for the 2021–2026 term, following the election of Vu Dai Thang as Chairman of Hanoi.

The Politburo recently announced the transfer and assignment of Vu Dai Thang, then Party Secretary of Quang Ninh Province, to join the Party Executive Committee and Standing Committee of Hanoi, appointing him as Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee.

Immediately afterward, during its 28th session, the Hanoi People’s Council elected Vu Dai Thang as Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee for the current term.
