According to statistics from i-SPEED by VNNIC (Speedtest.vn) in July 2025, Viettel led the 5G speed rankings, followed by VNPT and MobiFone in second and third place respectively.

Viettel’s 5G download speed reached 483 Mbps, with an upload speed of 106 Mbps. VNPT posted 315 Mbps download and 52 Mbps upload, while MobiFone recorded 211 Mbps download and 38 Mbps upload.

This exceptional performance reflects not only Viettel’s extensive 5G coverage but also its optimized network efficiency, providing users with fast and stable access in real-world conditions. Data from nPERF’s coverage map shows Viettel currently has the largest 5G footprint in Vietnam, with over 7,000 stations installed nationwide. The operator targets nearly 30,000 5G stations by the end of 2025.

In overall mobile network speed (4G + 5G), Viettel also ranked first, with 98 Mbps download and 31 Mbps upload, followed by VNPT (72 Mbps/29 Mbps) and MobiFone (57 Mbps/23 Mbps). Speedtest.vn’s charts also show Viettel has the lowest speed fluctuation, ensuring consistent user experience in both urban centers and surrounding areas.

Earlier, i-SPEED’s February report listed Viettel’s average 5G speed at 226.27 Mbps, ahead of VinaPhone’s 157.17 Mbps, with the national average at 187.58 Mbps.

Globally, according to Ookla’s Q1 and Q2 2025 reports, Viettel ranked third worldwide for overall mobile network speed with a Speed Score of 82.56, surpassing major providers like Singtel and SK Telecom. Meanwhile, VinaPhone ranked second globally for 5G speed (Speed Score 78.11), just behind e& of the UAE.
