The National Final Round of China’s TSP International Arts Festival in Shanghai brought together thousands of outstanding artistic talents from around the world. Organized by the Center for Domestic and International Exchange under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China, the festival featured esteemed judges from leading conservatories, academies, and international art organizations.
Vietnam’s delegation participated in various categories including piano, traditional instruments, and vocal performance. Among them, Duong Duc Hai stood out as the only Vietnamese contestant to win a Gold Medal in the Vocal category, surpassing hundreds of international singers.
Beyond the award, Duong Duc Hai was specially selected by the organizing committee to perform in the public concert with the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra at the 3,000-seat Shanghai Oriental Art Center – an honor reserved for the festival's top artists.
At just 13 years old, Duong Duc Hai delivered an emotional and accurate performance of "The Bund" in Chinese, despite having only three days of rehearsal with the orchestra. His rendition received a prolonged standing ovation from the audience and direct praise from top professors and conductors in China.
Earlier in June 2025, Duong Duc Hai had also won two First Prizes (in both amateur and professional divisions) in the vocal category at the Crescendo International Music Festival & Competition 2025 held in Hanoi. The competition attracted more than 800 young talents from across Vietnam and countries such as Austria, France, South Korea, Malaysia, and Brunei.
The TSP International Arts Festival in Shanghai is more than just a competition; it serves as a platform for international cultural and artistic exchange. The recognition of a young Vietnamese artist at this prestigious event not only highlights his individual talent but also contributes to promoting the image of Vietnam and its people on the global stage.
