The exhibition “80 years of independence - freedom - happiness” will officially open on August 28 at the Vietnam Exhibition Center in Dong Anh, Hanoi. This nationwide event gathers hundreds of organizations, enterprises, and thousands of artists, promising to be a cultural and artistic highlight in celebration of the 80th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).
A landmark national-scale event
Organized to mark eight decades of independence, the exhibition reflects Vietnam’s historical journey while affirming the nation’s growing international stature. It aims to inspire young generations with national pride and a stronger appreciation of freedom and resilience.
At a press briefing, Le Hai Binh, Standing Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, emphasized: “This exhibition is not only a place to view artifacts and documents but also a space to honor the country’s most outstanding achievements over the past 80 years. It helps every citizen, especially the youth, better understand our history, independence, and the will and intellect of Vietnam.”
The exhibition will feature achievements across key areas such as industry and technology, investment and trade, agriculture and rural development, defense and security, foreign affairs, healthcare, education, culture, sports, and tourism. It also introduces the country’s rich traditions spanning 4,000 years of history, the cultural diversity of 54 ethnic groups, natural resources, and architectural landmarks nationwide.
Modern sectors will also be presented, including green industries, digital transformation, aerospace, defense technology, and Vietnam’s 12 cultural industries.
