The decision was driven by two main factors.
First, the tournament is scheduled to take place in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The long travel distance from Southeast Asia would entail significant financial costs and logistical challenges for participating teams from the region.
More importantly, the championship is set to be held from December 8 to 14, directly overlapping with the 33rd SEA Games. This timing conflict would prevent VTV Binh Dien Long An from fielding their strongest lineup.
Key players such as Vo Thi Kim Thoa, Nguyen Khanh Dang, Dang Thi Kim Thanh, and Le Nhu Anh, along with head coach Nguyen Ngoc Hoa, are all part of the national women's volleyball team’s training squad in preparation for the SEA Games. Star outside hitter Tran Thi Thanh Thuy is also expected to return to Vietnam to join the national team in December.
“VTV Binh Dien Long An always prioritizes creating the best conditions for our players and coaches to fulfill their national team duties. After reaching a mutual understanding with the Vietnam Volleyball Federation, the club has decided to withdraw from the 2025 World Championship,” the club stated.
VTV Binh Dien Long An is not alone in this decision.
Thailand’s Nakhon Ratchasima club, who secured third place at the 2025 AVC Champions League, has also pulled out of the Club World Championship due to the absence of their key players who are also committed to national duties for the SEA Games.
