Vietnam and Pakistan have officially launched negotiations on a bilateral preferential trade agreement (VPPTA), marking a new step toward deeper and more sustainable economic cooperation between the two countries.
In a gesture symbolizing interfaith harmony and the desire to foster peace and strengthen ties between Vietnam and Pakistan, a sacred gift has been delivered to Bai Dinh Pagoda in Ninh Binh Province, where it will be available for public veneration.
Vietnam and Pakistan reaffirmed their commitment to advancing new initiatives and deepening practical, sustainable trade relations at the fifth meeting of the Vietnam-Pakistan Joint Subcommittee on Trade in Hanoi on July 11.
Themed “Unity and Inclusivity for Human Dignity: Buddhist Insights for World Peace and Sustainable Development,” Vesak 2025 is scheduled to take place in Ho Chi Minh City from May 6-8.
Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has proposed an ambitious goal for Vietnam and Pakistan to reach $10 billion in bilateral trade in the coming years, expressing hopes to welcome Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to Pakistan soon.
The Pakistan Academy of Letters will translate “Truyen Kieu” (The Tale of Kieu) by legendary poet Nguyen Du and “Nhat Ky Trong Tu” (Prison Diary) by late President Ho Chi Minh into Urdu – the national language of Pakistan.
In June, the Vietnam Trade Office in Pakistan mobilised and directly led a delegation of Pakistani businesses to participate in the 2024 International Supply Chain Connection event in Ho Chi Minh City.
Pakistan has recently announced changes to its visa policies, including a significant waiver of visa fees for visitors from 126 countries, including Vietnam.
