Eight member schools under the Vietnam National University, HCMC (VNUHCMC), including Bach Khoa, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities, International University, Information Technology, Economics-Law, An Giang, and Health Sciences, as well as the other affiliates belonging to VNUHCMC, including the Institute of Environment and Resources and the Institute of Advanced Materials Technology, are seeking hundreds of PhDs. Bach Khoa University alone needs 25 individuals.

For young scientists, candidates only need to meet one of four criteria: having a paper published in a reputable journal or conference; owning a registered patent or invention; having a scientific-technological product that has been transferred; or pursuing a new, promising research direction aligned with the development strategy of VNU-HCMC.

For senior scientists, candidates must meet five criteria, including experience and capabilities; leading research projects; having publications in reputable scientific journals or owning exclusive patents or inventions; teaching experience and mentoring PhD candidates; and having domestic and international collaboration networks.

At Bach Khoa University, total income includes state-regulated base salary adjusted by seniority + job-based income. The average monthly salary for PhDs with less than 3 years' experience is VND35 million; over 3 years is VND45 million. Professors and associate professors with over 3 years' experience receive VND85 million/month. Foreigners are paid 3 times more than Vietnamese staff.

At University of Natural Sciences, salary includes base pay + seniority-based pay + job-based income of VND20 million/month.

Social Sciences and Humanities University offers salaries based on state regulations adjusted by seniority + job position income of VND15 million per month. Under the talent attraction policy, professors receive VND200 million, associate professors VND150 million, and PhDs VND100 million. Foreigners receive double the salary of Vietnamese nationals.

International University offers salaries based on state regulations adjusted by seniority + job position income of VND20-23.2 million per month.

Information Technology University offers salaries based on state regulations adjusted by seniority + job position income of VND21 million per month. Under the talent attraction policy, professors receive VND300 million, associate professors VND200 million, and PhDs VND150 million. Those with ISI/Scopus publications receive up to VND200 million in support, a VND34 million research project in the first year, VND100 million for achieving professor status, and VND70 million for associate professor status.

Economics-Law University offers the salaries of VND30-45 million per month, associate professors VND55-70 million per month, and professors VND75-80 million per month. Under the talent attraction policy (with a 5-year commitment), professors receive VND350 million, associate professors VND250 million, and PhDs VND150 million. Candidates meeting professor standards receive VND150 million, and associate professors VND100 million.
