On the morning of September 29, Typhoon No. 10, known internationally as Bualoi, ripped apart a 4,500-square-meter steel-frame warehouse in Nam Hoa Lu ward, Ninh Binh province. The storm left behind twisted steel beams, broken roofing sheets, and a scene of devastation.
The warehouse, used to store construction steel, was flattened when powerful winds snapped hundreds of load-bearing steel columns and tore off the metal roofing. Sheets of corrugated iron were shredded and hurled across the site, causing the entire structure to collapse.
According to the warehouse operator, the facility was holding approximately 7,000 tons of steel at the time. The collapse also damaged nine trucks and trailers parked inside. The structure, built with heavy-duty steel frames, had been in operation for nearly a decade and had withstood multiple previous storms.
Fortunately, the incident occurred early in the morning before workers arrived, preventing any casualties. However, the financial losses are estimated at several tens of billions of dong (equivalent to millions of US dollars).
