On the afternoon of September 27, the Military Region 5 Command organized inspection teams to key locations in Da Nang, coordinating storm preparedness measures.

Inspection teams visited Tho Quang boat lock in Son Tra Ward and Me Suot Street in Hoa Khanh Ward - areas frequently prone to flooding - and monitored emergency preparedness at Armored Battalion 699 (under Da Nang’s Military Command), Engineer Brigade 270, Division 315, and Ky Ha Port Border Guard Station.

Through field inspections, the Military Region 5 Command commended the proactive coordination of local units and authorities. Nearly 24,000 fishing boats were called in to take shelter. Residents were advised to reinforce homes and infrastructure, monitor landslide-prone zones, and stockpile food and water. Emergency communication lines and evacuation plans were also readied.

Given the storm's intensity, wide circulation, and risk of flash floods and landslides, Military Region 5 has mobilized thousands of officers, soldiers, and mobile vehicles to support rescue operations and disaster recovery efforts when the storm hits.

Major General Tran Thanh Hai personally led the inspection team. He reviewed evacuation and shelter operations for vessels and supervised storm readiness along Me Suot Street, a flood-prone area of Da Nang. As of that afternoon, heavy localized rains had already caused water levels to rise in parts of Hoa Khanh Ward.

Deputy Chairman of Hoa Khanh Ward People’s Committee, Dang Ngoc Tuan, reported three high-risk zones in the area: Me Suot Street, Hamlet 113 of Hoa Minh Ward, and the Nui So Mountain area, home to 43 households vulnerable to landslides. Local militia and officials were stationed at these points to assist the population.

“We’ve deployed equipment and stationed guards in these vulnerable zones. In some areas, water has already overflowed streets and drains. We’ve placed warning ropes and guided traffic. At Me Suot, we’re helping residents reinforce homes and move belongings,” said Tuan.

Major General Hai and Da Nang’s Military Command Chief personally visited homes along Me Suot Street, advising families to elevate valuable possessions or move them elsewhere. He instructed troops to assist households - especially those with elderly residents or single women.

“We’ve ordered local troops, the standing militia, and mobile forces to help residents move furniture to higher ground or safer areas. These units are fully prepared to respond when heavy rains arrive,” General Hai confirmed.
