According to a statement from Bamboo Airways, the airline will transfer all its domestic flight operations from Terminal 1 (T1) to Terminal 3 at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, starting from 12:00 AM on August 18.

The airline has already informed passengers about this transition when booking tickets. Bamboo Airways emphasized that travelers departing from Tan Son Nhat must now check in at Terminal 3, not Terminal 1. Similarly, arriving passengers will collect their baggage at Terminal 3.

The airline also announced it has deployed ground staff and installed signage at Terminal 3 to assist passengers during the transition phase.

With this move, Bamboo Airways becomes the second airline, after Vietnam Airlines, to operate from the newly inaugurated Terminal 3. The facility, inaugurated on April 19, was built at a cost of nearly VND 11 trillion (approximately USD 461 million) and is now Vietnam’s largest domestic terminal, capable of handling 20 million passengers annually. This boosts the airport’s total capacity to 50 million passengers per year.

According to Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV), during the peak summer travel season this year, Tan Son Nhat Airport is expected to operate 730 flights daily, serving approximately 120,000 passenger movements per day.

The total number of passengers passing through the airport this summer is projected to reach nearly 10 million, with around 6 million domestic and 4 million international passengers. Terminal 3 alone is expected to serve approximately 2.3 million passengers during this period.

By the end of 2025, Tan Son Nhat Airport is forecasted to receive about 42 million passengers, an increase of over 2 million compared to 2024, which recorded 39.8 million travelers.
