A sudden and violent thunderstorm swept through several communes in Ninh Binh province in the early hours of September 29, causing significant destruction and leaving six people dead and several others injured.

Tran Anh Dung, Vice Chairman of the Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee, confirmed that the storm struck multiple localities, inflicting heavy damage to both human life and property.

Initial reports indicated that in Quy Nhat commune, the storm collapsed several houses, killing four people and injuring three others. In Hai Anh commune, strong winds toppled 30 utility poles and destroyed multiple homes, resulting in one fatality. Another death was reported in Thinh Long commune, where the storm ripped the roofs off houses and caused some to collapse. Four more individuals were injured in that area.

Local authorities quickly mobilized emergency response teams to the affected areas to assist residents in recovery efforts and to console the families of the deceased.

Damage assessment and relief operations are still ongoing as emergency personnel continue to respond to the aftermath.
