On September 12, a Facebook post titled “Save this child from his cruel stepmother” began circulating online. The post included a handwritten letter and videos suggesting the child was being abused in Kien Hung Ward, Hanoi.

Hanoi police quickly ordered local and specialized units to coordinate efforts to verify the information. Investigations determined the alleged incident occurred at the Van Phu – Victoria apartment complex. Police have since contacted the individuals involved.

According to a source close to the case, the videos were recorded earlier in 2025. Recently, the boy’s father reportedly posted them on social media.

It was confirmed that the boy’s biological parents have filed for divorce and are currently awaiting the court’s ruling. The father and the stepmother - who share two biological children - still reside together in the same apartment.

Investigators are also reviewing pages from what appears to be the boy’s personal diary, which was shared online. The diary entries allegedly detail repeated abuse at the hands of his stepmother, including beatings with a phone, glass bottle, and spoon.

The circulated post included three video clips and images of the diary pages, showing scenes such as the stepmother hitting the child and forcing him to stand motionless for long periods.

After being posted, the content quickly went viral across social media platforms. Many users expressed outrage at the woman’s actions and called on authorities to take decisive action to protect the child.

The Hanoi Police Department has confirmed that a thorough investigation is underway and emphasized its commitment to strictly enforcing child protection laws and ensuring the legal rights of minors are upheld.
