On August 10, at home, Vietnam’s U20 women’s team defeated Kyrgyzstan 3–0 to top Group B in the qualifiers and secure a spot in the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup 2026 finals.

A strong start and decisive finish

Coach Okiyama Masahiko’s players entered the match determined to take all three points. In just the third minute, Luu Hoang Van controlled the ball expertly outside the penalty area and scored with precision, putting Vietnam ahead 1–0.

The dominance continued, and in the 28th minute, Khanh Vy’s cross caused a fumble from the Kyrgyz goalkeeper, resulting in an own goal for 2–0. The first half ended with Vietnam firmly in control.

After the break, Coach Masahiko slowed the tempo but maintained pressure, keeping Kyrgyzstan on the defensive. In the 74th minute, from a Y Za Luong corner, Khanh Vy rose high to head home the third goal.

Flawless qualification campaign

In the other Group B match, Hong Kong (China) beat Singapore 2–0 to finish second. Vietnam’s perfect record - three wins, 15 goals scored, none conceded - secured them a place at the finals.
