Khanh Hoa province is proposing a coastal road project worth approximately 10 trillion VND (around 408 million USD), including a 4-kilometer sea-crossing bridge to connect Cam Ranh Airport with southern economic zones in the province.

According to a report from the Khanh Hoa Project Management Board for Investment and Construction, the province plans to develop a coastal road linking Cam Ranh Airport with key economic zones in the southern region (formerly part of Ninh Thuan).

The proposed route will run through Bac Cam Ranh Ward, Nam Cam Ranh Commune, and Cong Hai Commune. The total length of the road is around 25 kilometers, comprising 4 kilometers of sea bridge and 21 kilometers of regular road. About 10 kilometers of the route will pass through areas under the jurisdiction of Naval Region 4. The road will be 20.5 to 27 meters wide, and the bridge will be about 27 meters wide with six lanes and a vertical clearance of 37 meters to ensure smooth maritime and road transport.

The total estimated investment is 10 trillion VND (approx. 408 million USD), sourced from both central and local government budgets. Of this, around 2.3 trillion VND (94 million USD) is allocated for road construction, 7.5 trillion VND (306 million USD) for the bridge, and the remainder for land clearance.

Once operational, the project is expected to establish seamless connectivity along the coastal corridor from Cam Ranh Airport to the province’s key southern economic zones. It is also projected to enhance disaster resilience and strengthen national defense and security in coastal areas.

On October 24, Nguyen Khac Toan, Chairman of the Khanh Hoa People’s Committee, led a delegation to survey the proposed site for the project. During the field inspection, he emphasized that this is a vital project for the province to spur socio-economic development.

He urged the provincial project management board to continue coordinating with relevant departments and agencies to review and advise the provincial government on implementing the next steps in accordance with regulations.
