On the morning of November 14, the 10th session of Ho Chi Minh City’s People’s Council (2021–2026 term) convened its fifth meeting  -  a special session  -  to deliberate and approve several important leadership matters.

At the session, council members unanimously approved the dismissal of Pham Thanh Kien from the position of Vice Chairman of the People’s Council, following his reassignment as Head of the Organization Commission of the City Party Committee.

The council also agreed to relieve Nguyen Van Tho of his duties as Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee, while concurrently electing him as Vice Chairman of the People’s Council for the remainder of the 2021–2026 term.

With a majority of votes in favor, the People’s Council elected three new vice chairmen to the city’s People’s Committee:

Tran Van Bay, Chief Inspector of Ho Chi Minh City
Nguyen Cong Vinh, Director of the Department of Finance
Hoang Nguyen Dinh, Deputy Head of the City Party Committee’s Commission for Propaganda and Mass Mobilization

In addition to the new vice chairmen, the council also approved the appointment of three new members to the People’s Committee:

Nguyen Toan Thang, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment
Tran Quang Lam, Director of the Department of Construction
Pham Huy Binh, Director of the Department of Tourism

These leadership additions are part of Ho Chi Minh City’s ongoing efforts to consolidate its executive team and improve governance capacity for the remainder of the current term.
