The Office of the Investigation Police Agency under the Ministry of Public Security has officially indicted Do Huu Tuan, former Deputy Director of the Department of Food Safety (Ministry of Health), for accepting bribes.

On November 22, the Investigation Police Agency confirmed it is investigating a major criminal case involving bribery and bribery-related offenses at the Department of Food Safety and multiple companies across Hanoi and various provinces.

As part of its expanded investigation, the agency announced on November 21 that 14 individuals have been indicted.

Among them, eight suspects have been charged with accepting bribes. Authorities have issued arrest warrants or travel bans, depending on each suspect’s level of involvement.

Arrest and detention orders were issued for:

Do Huu Tuan, former Deputy Director of the Department of Food Safety
Le Manh Hung, Head of the Food Product Management Division
Vu Huy Long, Specialist at the Food Product Management Division

Others were indicted and placed under restricted movement orders, including:

Nguyen Thi Thu Quynh, Specialist at the Food Poisoning and Media Monitoring Division
Nguyen Thi Yen, Deputy Chief of Office, Department of Food Safety
Pham Hoang Giang, Specialist at the Food Product Management Division
Tran Thi Hong Nhung, Specialist at the Food Product Management Division
Tran Thi Tuyet, Specialist at the Standards and Testing Management Division

The Supreme People’s Procuracy has approved all procedural decisions. Legal measures were executed in full compliance with Vietnamese law.

The investigation is ongoing, with authorities working to uncover the full scope of violations and hold all responsible individuals accountable.
