On the morning of September 26, a calibration flight took off from Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City and headed for Long Thanh Airport in Dong Nai Province.

This series of calibration flights marks a crucial step in the technical verification of systems at this “mega” airport project and officially kicks off the real-world testing phase at Vietnam’s largest international airport.

According to VietNamNet reporters, at around 6:10 AM, the skies over Long Thanh were still hazy with early morning mist when the roar of the Beechcraft King Air 350ER echoed through the air. The aircraft then began its initial calibration runs.

Each approach, descent, and alignment with the runway generates critical data for specialized teams to evaluate the accuracy of airport equipment and systems.

The calibration campaign is scheduled to run from September 26 to October 24 and will comprehensively test all modern systems to ensure Long Thanh International Airport meets international standards from day one of operations.
