Recognition Ceremony for Outstanding Ethnic Minority Students and Youth 2024.

Building on experience, advancing with purpose

The event is organized annually by the Ministry of Ethnic and Religious Affairs (formerly the Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs), in coordination with the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (now under the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front). It aims to honor exceptional students and youth from ethnic minority communities for their achievements in learning, personal growth, and contributions across various fields.

The event also serves as a platform for students and young people from different ethnic groups to meet, connect, and exchange experiences.

This year, the preparations for the 12th ceremony are being carried out with urgency, professionalism, and thorough coordination. Following its merger with the Ethnic Minority and Development Newspaper, VietNamNet has been appointed as the Standing Organ of the Organizing Committee for the 2025 ceremony.

Drawing on the success of past events, VietNamNet has proactively advised the Ministry's leadership on the issuance of implementation plans and official directives.

In October 2025, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung signed a series of key decisions, including:

·        Decision No. 783/QD-BDTTG on the establishment of the Steering Committee

·        Decision No. 782/QD-BDTTG on the establishment of the Organizing Committee

·        Decision No. 784/QD-BDTTG outlining the implementation plan for the ceremony

Notably, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung, a member of the Party Central Committee, will serve as Head of the Steering Committee for this year’s ceremony.

Coordinated planning for impactful results

To concretize the plan, Deputy Minister Y Thong  -  Permanent Deputy Head of the Steering Committee and Head of the Organizing Committee  -  signed Decision No. 18/QD-BTCLTD, assigning specific responsibilities to each member. The Editor-in-Chief of VietNamNet, who is also the Permanent Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee, has been tasked with establishing supporting subcommittees for the event.

Since early November, the Organizing Committee has held review and planning meetings to finalize the event's core components. In addition to the main recognition ceremony, several activities will be held on the sidelines, including:

·        A tribute at the Mausoleum of President Ho Chi Minh

·        A visit to the Presidential Palace Historical Site

·        Signing the Golden Book at the Temple of Literature

·        A meeting with Party and State leaders

The 2025 edition will also feature a special program titled “Connection – Convergence – Inspiration” dedicated to the honored ethnic minority youth.

A critical factor in the success of the event is the selection process for award recipients. After consulting with various government agencies, the Organizing Committee advised the Steering Committee to issue formal regulations governing the selection of outstanding students and youth from ethnic minorities.

The event's logistical and ceremonial preparations  -  including technical scripts and protocols  -  are progressing smoothly. This year’s organizing efforts have been bolstered by the cooperation of key agencies:

·        The Ministry of Education and Training is responsible for nominating and submitting qualified candidates from universities and ethnic boarding schools, based on established criteria.

·        The Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front oversees the selection of outstanding ethnic minority youth.

Both organizations are working closely with VietNamNet to finalize the event scenario and prepare relevant reports and documentation.

To date, core tasks are being completed on schedule.

Thanks to proactive preparation, detailed planning, and effective coordination between the Ministry of Education and Training, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and other stakeholders, the 2025 Recognition Ceremony is expected to be a resounding success  -  promoting the values of learning, resilience, and pride among Vietnam’s ethnic minority youth.
