The event is part of the “Touching Hanoi’s Autumn” program, co-organized by the Hanoi People’s Committee and Vietnam Airlines, as confirmed by the organizers on September 23.

The race has already attracted significant attention just five days after registration opened. Among the 700 registered athletes are 12 international dragon boat teams and 20 domestic teams, as well as 30 international and 120 domestic SUP (stand-up paddleboard) paddlers.

According to the organizing committee, the dragon boat competition is divided into two categories: community-based and professional. The community-based category includes male and female teams from Hanoi’s wards and communes, as well as embassies, international organizations, and universities based in the city. The professional category features male teams from provinces and cities across Vietnam.

The SUP races will include the 800-meter technical category (male and female), the 400-meter community-based category (male and female), and a family relay event.
