This morning, the second Vietnam–Cambodia Border Defense Friendship Exchange officially commenced at the Moc Bai International Border Gate in Tay Ninh Province.

The welcoming ceremony was held with full honors under the leadership of General Phan Van Giang, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission and Vietnam's Minister of National Defense.

Around 9 a.m., General Phan Van Giang and the Vietnamese delegation greeted General Tea Seiha – Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defense of Cambodia – and his delegation at the border line marking the two countries' territorial boundary.

The Vietnam–Cambodia Border Defense Friendship Exchange is a major defense diplomacy event, taking place from November 13 to 14 across Tay Ninh Province (Vietnam) and Svay Rieng Province (Cambodia).

The first edition of the event was held in 2022 in Binh Phuoc Province and Kratie Province, leaving a strong impression of solidarity between the armies and peoples of both nations.

Following the official welcome, both ministers planted commemorative trees at the Moc Bai border gate, visited a joint military medical exercise, and attended the inauguration of the new semi-boarding classroom facility at Ben Cau Primary School (Thuan Lam Hamlet, Ben Cau Commune, Tay Ninh Province).

They also took part in the twinning ceremony between two border communities: Long Cuong Hamlet (Long Thuan Commune, Tay Ninh) and O Ta Mo Hamlet (Mo No Rum Commune, Svay Teap District, Svay Rieng Province, Cambodia).

The program continued with a visit to the Division 5 Traditional House under Military Region 7, followed by bilateral talks and the signing of cooperation agreements.

This initiative supports the development of a peaceful, stable, and growing Vietnam–Cambodia border, strengthening political trust and comprehensive relations.

It is also a valuable opportunity to promote Vietnam’s image as a peace-loving and friendly nation, while countering false narratives about the bilateral relationship.
