The moment that charmed the internet was when the groom gently placed a small wooden stool at every table, allowing his bride - who stands just 1.46 meters tall - to be eye-level with their guests.

Netizens were quick to react with admiration and affection:

“She looks like a little girl standing next to her superhero!”

“Proof that opposites attract - fate sure knows how to match people.”

“He clearly adores her! Carrying that stool the whole party says it all.”

The couple in the viral clip are Kim Xuyen (born 2002) and Thanh Duy (born 2004), both from Vinh Long. Behind the adorable footage lies a heartwarming love story.

Xuyen recalls they met in 2025 while working at the same company. Though they crossed paths daily, neither dared to start a conversation.

In July 2025, after Duy left the job, he finally messaged her and confessed his feelings.

“We officially started dating after three meetups,” Xuyen said. “The first time, I felt awkward because I’m so short - just 1.46m - and he’s nearly 1.9m tall. But the second meeting, I saw how sincere, honest, and sweet he was.

By the third date, I realized this guy always knew how to make me laugh. That’s when I knew my heart was his.”

The couple’s whirlwind romance quickly led to wedding bells.

Like many modern couples, their love grew through small acts of care, daily chats, and shared life stories.

Whenever they went out, the height difference drew attention. People often mistook Duy as Xuyen’s older brother or guardian - even though he’s actually two years younger.

“He always pats my head like I’m a kid,” she laughed. “Being with him, I’m often carried, piggybacked - it makes me feel so cherished.”

“He notices every little thing. He never lets me cry. If I’m upset, he comes to my house just to make peace. And honestly, when I’m with him, I don’t have to lift a finger.”

Not long after they started dating, Duy brought Xuyen home to meet his parents. At first, his family hesitated due to their noticeable height gap. But Duy was firm: “Height doesn’t matter. As long as we love each other and we’re happy - that’s all that counts.”

Eventually, both families gave their blessing, and the wedding was held on November 8.

A wedding to remember

Their pre-wedding photo shoot was an adventure of its own. Despite wearing 12cm heels, Xuyen still had to stand on a high stool just to match Duy’s height in pictures.

The shoot took longer than usual because the photographer had to constantly adjust the stool and poses. The team joked, “We’ve done this for years, but never seen a shoot like this. Two hours and this couple is unforgettable!”

Choosing the right dress was another challenge. Xuyen had to try on multiple wedding gowns to find one that fit her petite frame, while Duy quickly found a perfect suit thanks to his tall, lean build.

On the big day, she again wore high heels to minimize the height difference - but still stood nearly two heads shorter than her husband.

“From the ancestor altar ceremony to the reception stage, his hand never left the stool,” Xuyen recalled. “He carried it everywhere, lifting me up when I needed to light incense, say vows, or greet guests.”

When her feet got sore from the heels, she switched to slippers. Even then, he made sure she could reach every guest’s gaze by placing the stool beside her at every table.

“People laughed and said, ‘Your husband really dotes on you!’” she smiled.

Throughout the ceremony, guests commented on their height difference. Some joked, “Heaven really plays matchmaker,” while others said, “Great choice! Your kids will inherit his height.”

But for Xuyen, all that mattered was having someone who loved her deeply - enough to carry a stool all night, just so she could shine.

The couple now lives in their hometown of Vinh Long. They’ve arranged their small home to accommodate their height differences and enjoy a peaceful, joy-filled life together.
