Apple has never been fond of leaks. Its lawsuit against Jon Prosser of FPT - accused by the tech giant of accessing an iPhone 17 prototype owned by an Apple employee - speaks volumes.

Ironically, it was Apple itself that unintentionally leaked several new devices.

Unreleased Apple devices accidentally revealed

According to reports, Apple mistakenly included hardware identification code in a software release, unintentionally exposing multiple unreleased products.

One of those is a new HomePod mini, codenamed B525. This makes sense, as the current HomePod mini carries the code B520.

The new HomePod mini will use the same T8310 architecture currently found in recent Apple Watch models.

Both the Apple Watch Series 9 and Series 10 use the T8310 architecture. It is also expected to appear in the upcoming S11 chip for the Apple Watch Series 11, slated for release next month.

This means a new chip will replace the S5 chip used in the original HomePod mini launched in 2020.

The new chip is rumored to feature a dual-core 64-bit CPU based on the A16 chip and a four-core Neural Engine - an upgrade not found in the current model. The second-generation HomePod mini could debut any time between next month and the end of 2025.

New Apple TV powered by A17 Pro chip

Another leaked device is a new Apple TV equipped with the A17 Pro chip, the same chip used in the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. This is a significant leap from the A15 Bionic currently found in Apple TV.

The new chipset will enable Apple Intelligence capabilities on Apple TV and support console-level gaming. Apple is also reportedly testing its own custom Bluetooth/Wi-Fi chip for this product.

The new Apple TV may launch as soon as next month or later this year.

New iPad mini to feature A19 Pro chip

Another device accidentally revealed is a new iPad mini (codenamed J510/J511), which is expected to feature the A19 Pro chip—the same chip planned for the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max.

The last iPad mini was launched in October of last year with an A17 Pro chip. Apple is also believed to be working on an OLED-display iPad mini for 2026 or 2027, which could be the same device exposed in the leak.

The A19 Pro is anticipated to have more GPU cores than the A19 SoC. A less powerful version of this chip, with one fewer GPU core, might be used in the ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air. This tiered chip classification allows Apple to utilize chips with minor manufacturing imperfections instead of discarding them.

New budget iPad on the horizon

A new standard iPad model (codenamed J581/J582) was also revealed. This device will upgrade from the A16 chip to the A18.

Scheduled for release in spring 2026, the new budget iPad will support Apple Intelligence and come with a 16-core Neural Engine.

Despite the internal upgrades, the external design of the standard iPad is expected to remain unchanged.

Vision Pro 2 and Apple Watch Series 11 lineup

The leak also included details on the Apple Watch Series 11, Ultra 3, and Watch SE 3. All models will use the new S11 SiP chip, which is based on the T8310 architecture shared by the S9 and S10. The S11 may feature two performance cores, a dual-core 64-bit CPU, and a four-core Neural Engine.

In addition to the Apple Watch lineup, the leak revealed Vision Pro 2 - featuring the new M5 chip to replace the M2 used in the original version. This device may launch at the end of 2025.

Also mentioned was the Apple Studio Display 2, which could be equipped with mini-LED backlighting. It is expected to launch early next year.
